Audi unveiled two fascinating new concept studies at the Frankfurt Motor show, two weeks ago, on September 13. Both are sport EVs based on the Audi Sportback Audi Spyder respectively.  Crafted from super-lightweight carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP), with one-plus-one seating and free-standing wheels featuring protective plates, they look like  a hybrid mix of high-class go-cart, old-school gangster car (i.e., 1935 Hudson Terraplane) and modern micro car.

US audiences are very familiar with Volkswagen Eos and Volkswagen Golf as this German auto maker's small cars. Over in Europe, an even smaller and more fuel efficient vehicle is coming to dealerships.

The Volkswagen Up! Concept has been built into a production ready model. "This new concept city car will make its debut first in Germany next year. It will be an entry level vehicle for the foreign auto maker."¹
